OK, this is pretty freaking awesome!

Riviera is a call recorder that records Skype calls & conversations to MP3 files. Record interviews, tech talks, conferences, pod casts, etc.

i'm new to Skype; i just had to download it after seeing how cool it is on a friend's laptop. It reminded me of the good ol' days when you could do free (albeit dark & grainy) cam chats on Yahoo.

Yahoo could only archive text, but Skype has the ability to actually make audio recordings!

Since 360 has been abandoned by Yahoo as it develops its mysterious Universal Profile, i've decided to migrate my blogs, friends list and photos to Multiply. i've also brought in my Blogger blog, even though i haven't had any time to devote to it. i tried to hang on to 360 for as long as possible, but it's become just too damn frustrating.

Georgie has desecrated the Constitution, neutered the Bill of Rights, and decided that the Geneva Convention is antiquated. The USA isn't a member of the International Criminal Court (how conVEEEEEEnient), and the 100,000 acres Georgie bought is in Paraguay - a country that doesn't extradite war criminals (isn't that special?). He's stocked the Supreme Court and the Department of Justice and the US Attorneys offices and the regulatory commissions with his Loyal Bushies.

It's become obvious that we are unable to stop this madman as far as Iraq is concerned ... first, he announces after the 2006 elections that he's going to embark on a "listenin' ter" through January and the troops won't mind delaying any decisions concerning their lives a few more months if'n it means Georgie gets to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas safensound in his Crawford spread. i wonder why he didn't have webcasts so the troops could watch him and be thankful he gets to spend the holidays with his family and friends?

So, the voters on 11/06 say "get outta Iraq", and what does The Decider decide? "Ah'm a-sendin' in MORE troops".

Congress sends him the first spending bill, that includes "get outta Iraq", and what does The Commander Guy command? "Ah'm extendin' tours from 12 ta 15 months".

So i guess the reason the Democrats caved to what he's wanted all along is because the troops simply can't survive anymore of Georgie's "strategic revisions". If they get any more forceful in their requests for ending his war, his next response may just be another surge ... oh, wait; never mind.

i believe the public will NOT accuse the Democrats of not funding the troops if they were to LOUDLY prove that we're not talking about stranding them at the bus stop ... and more importantly, what the "funding" has been all about to begin with.

Georgie initially sent our kids in uniform (i'm starting to REALLY hate the term "troops" - i think it's dehumanizing them) into places called Ambush Alley in Humvees without doors. They lacked adequate body armour and other precautions. He allowed Halliburton to feed them tainted food and provide them contaminated water, and charge them $100 per laundry load. Blackwater contractors number nearly the same as our forces, and have an average pay of around $100,000 per year (didja notice that Bush recently TURNED DOWN a request to give our kids a SIX DOLLAR A MONTH raise??? That along with Walter Reed should pretty much finish off any of this nonsense that Georgie cares about our service personnel) with no oversight. He's built a 104-acre embassy fortress along with at least 14 permanent military bases. The contractors have a nightclub inside the embassy where they can escape the horrors of the ravaged country every night and enjoy gourmet meals and liquor.

Besides these outrageous costs, there has been corruption and overcharging and oh yes shrinkwrapped pallets o cash that just, yanno, disappear. SOOOOO - it's the Democrats who aren't funding "the troops in harm's way"??? Gimme a fucking break.

Osama prevailed in Afghanistan against the mighty Soviet Union by merely keeping them there, bleeding dry their treasury and military, until it crumpled in a heap. That's why i can firmly believe with confidence that he really DOESN'T want us to leave Iraq - no one would abandon a winning strategy.

And Jews. And Muslims. And Pagans. And people like me - who believe we're the product of Annunaki genetic engineering.

The forefathers were not Christians, nor were the laws they enacted Biblical; we don't stone disrespectful children, sell our daughters into slavery, or pay our taxes with livestock. They specified freedom of religion because they knew all too well the horrors of a theocracy. It's Christian Fundamentalism that has sponsored such hits as The Inquisition, The Crusades, The Holocaust, & burning people at the stake.

Evolution is NOT a theory ... it is a proven, documented, undeniable & verified fact. It's DARWINISM that is a theory. So evolution does indeed belong in a science class. On the other hand, if you wish to teach Intelligent Design in a public school, i insist you use Zacharia Sitchin's Earth Chronicles as the text (oooh read the companion Genesis Revisited first).

Much of the Bible is indeed based on historical fact; archeology has bourne this out. However, much of Greek Mythology is ALSO based on such ... Heinrich Schleimann found Agamemnon's tomb & proved Troy actually existed. Every civilization needs myths, to explain what it cannot understand & to relate fables that instill the morals they wish their society to possess.

There is no 'War on Christianity'. Fundamentalists have gotten very vocal, & many have become downright bullies; what you're seeing is NOT an oppression of Christians, but a refusal by those of us not willing to be imposed upon - a reminder that not everyone adheres to what they believe. You can wear your crosses & carry your Bibles & drown your children all you want ... but there are some of us who don't share the belief in some skygod who will one day rip all the corpses from their crypts when he tires of watching us tear each other apart.

i'm guessing not a lot of zealots themselves are all that committed to their Apocalyptic visions ... their faith seems so fragile that a movie (Da Vinci Code) will shake it from its foundations; their unions so threatened that another group (gays & lesbians) getting married will destroy their own. If i followed the same doctrine as Charles Manson & Jim Jones, i suppose i'd be a little paranoid myself.

Those of us who aren't consumed by the End-Times will continue planning for a future, obtaining quality education for our kids, trying to get everyone health care, & separating our recyclables. Yes, i'm a tree-hugging bleeding-heart liberal ... just like Jesus.

According to Georgie, i'm a serial killer.

Not every fertilized egg attaches itself to the uterine wall & becomes a baby; most of them are flushed out along with the discarded lining each month. But following the line of thinking used to veto federal funding for stem cell research, any female who has a period is killing innocent life. i guess we can't blame Georgie for not understanding what 'innocent life' really is - he's pretty sheltered. He's never really seen the dead Iraqi people he's responsible for slaughtering, & he doesn't greet coffins or attend the funerals of the soldiers he's sent to guard his 104-acre self-contained oil executive retirement villa being built over there.

But there really SHOULD be someone to explain to him that he's not saving any life by having a blastocyst discarded instead of donated to research. i know, i know - science is JUST SO HARD. It's JUST SO BORING. Scientists use SUCH BIG WORDS.

i've noticed how science is reviled by the fundamentalists unless it's for their OWN purposes. They like to trumpet how "children are a blessing from God". But when, for whatever reason, God chooses not to bless them, THEN it's "help scientists!! In vitro me .. test-tube me ... DO SOMETHING SCIENTIFIC". What about the whole it's-the-will-of-God thing? i tell you, every week it seems like there's yet ANOTHER hypocritical/conflicting ideological soup to strain. And yes - i'm targeting the fundies; this veto was their serving of red meat.

Being the wife of the patron saint of the neocons, you'd think that Nancy Reagan would've had more clout. Superman (The American Way) & Alex P. Keaton (Junior Capitalist Extraordinaire) don't seem to matter, either. No research for the quality or prolonging of life, but protection of what just only possibly maybe perhaps hypothetically someday could be a future human. Ironic, when you consider we're being ruled by an apocalyptic cult who is depleting all of our resources today because they don't believe there will be a tomorrow.

If there's a winner (them) & a loser (us), then it's done, right? Wouldn't this be a convincing argument for those followers of that coke-sniffing alcoholic spoiled frathouse Connecticut cowboy that refuse to believe it's all about the oil, stupid?? They really seem to respond to sports analogies.

This administration has jumped out & screamed "boo" so often that THEY are really the terrorists. Come to think of it, Georgie is always telling us what the "terraists" want, or what they're goals are, or what they think ... he sure seems to know quite a bit about them. Oh, not any that are REAL threats - after all, he dismissed all the intelligence gathered by the Clinton administration that pointed a big blinking neon arrow at bin Laden/al Qaeda/planes-as-missles & practically wiped his heinie with the presidential briefing dated August 2001 with 'bin Laden to attack' written right on the frickin' cover. But those who hate our freedoms (hey, we're giving them up as fast as we can - give us a break) or want democracies to fail (funny because Hezbollah & Hamas were democratically elected ... not so funny for Lebanon) or want to kill us in our sleep (AAAAARRGGHHHH) must be going on bike rides or clearing brush with him or are in some other way able to penetrate his bubble so they can inform him "ew your freedoms suck OUT LOUD & make us just want to hurl in our cous-cous - they sooooo gotta go". Or maybe he's hearing from the 'combatants' that just want off the goddam waterboard.

i was completely floored to find out that RECENT polls show half of us think there was a connection between Saddam & 9/11. i can only find the semblance of one by playing a game of 6 Degrees:

Saddam DID have WMD. We sold them to him, to fight Iran, which he did, most likely exchanging fire with the weapons we traded to THEM for hostages. He DID have chemical weapons, which he DID use on the Kurds. The Kurds were in the northern section of the country (out of his jurisdiction, but still - Iraq) & were guarding a munitions factory owned by Saddam's sworn mortal enemy: Osama bin Laden, who takes credit for 9/11.

Ironic how Georgie's incessant 9/11 conjuring has made people forget 9/11. There were no Iraqis flying planes into buildings; the hijackers were from the United Arab Emirates - financed by Dubai ... you know, the folks to whom Georgie wanted to sell our ports of entry.
